Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Incase ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Incase mobile application (the "App"). We built Incase with privacy as a core principle — your location data never leaves your device.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Incase does NOT collect, store, transmit, or share:
- Your GPS coordinates or location data
- Your street address, intersection, or heading information
- Your device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Your name, email address, or any personal information
- Analytics, usage data, or behavioral tracking data
- Crash reports or diagnostics sent to our servers
We have no servers. We have no databases. We have no backend infrastructure. All processing happens entirely on your device.
2. How the App Works
Incase uses your device's built-in location services (GPS) to display your current coordinates, closest address, nearest intersection, compass heading, and nearby emergency services. All of this data is:
- Processed locally on your device
- Never transmitted to any server
- Never stored beyond your current session
- Never shared with any third party
When you use the "Copy" or "Share" feature, your location text is placed on your device's clipboard or shared via iOS's native share sheet — we have no visibility into or control over what you do with that information.
3. Location Services
Incase requests access to your device's location services to function. You can grant location access as "While Using the App" or "Allow Once." The App does not request or use "Always" location access. You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Incase.
4. Nearby Emergency Services
The premium Nearby Emergency Services feature uses Apple's MapKit framework to search for police stations, fire departments, and hospitals near your current location. These searches are performed directly between your device and Apple's servers using Apple's standard APIs — Incase does not operate any intermediary servers and does not see or log these search queries.
5. In-App Purchases
Incase offers premium features through in-app purchases managed entirely by Apple's App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. All purchase transactions are processed by Apple in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.
Purchase history and entitlement verification are handled on-device through Apple's StoreKit framework.
6. Third-Party Services
Incase does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. The only third-party service the App communicates with is Apple's infrastructure for:
- Location services (Core Location / GPS)
- Map search queries (MapKit)
- In-app purchase processing (StoreKit / App Store)
These communications are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
7. Children's Privacy
Incase does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data whatsoever, the App is inherently compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
8. Data Retention
We retain no data because we collect no data. When you close the App, no location history, search results, or usage data persists on our end. Locally cached data on your device (such as recent location fixes) is managed by iOS and cleared when you close the App or restart your device.
9. Data Security
Because Incase processes all data locally on your device and transmits nothing to our servers, your information is protected by your device's built-in security features, including encryption, biometric authentication, and the iOS security model.
10. Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store any personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, delete, or port. If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), California, or any other jurisdiction with data protection laws, please note that Incase's zero-data-collection architecture means these rights are satisfied by default.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
