Frequently Asked Questions

Make sure Location Services are enabled for Incase in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Incase. Select "While Using the App" for best results. GPS works best outdoors with a clear view of the sky. Indoor locations, dense buildings, and heavy tree cover can reduce accuracy.
Accuracy depends on your device's GPS hardware and environmental conditions. The App displays a real-time accuracy indicator (Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor) so you always know how reliable your current reading is. Typical accuracy is 3–10 meters outdoors.
Address and intersection data comes from Apple's reverse geocoding service. In rural areas, new developments, or recently changed streets, this data may be incomplete or outdated. The raw GPS coordinates are always the most reliable data point.
Open the App, go to Settings (gear icon), and tap "Restore Purchases." Your purchase is linked to your Apple ID and will be restored automatically.
Open the Settings app on your device, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, find Incase, and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also go to Settings in the App and tap "Manage Subscription." You will retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Incase purchase, and submit a refund request.
Yes. GPS coordinates, compass heading, and the emergency tools (flashlight, siren) work without cellular or Wi-Fi. However, the street address, intersection detection, and nearby emergency services features require a data connection because they use Apple's geocoding and map search services. The 911 call feature requires cellular service.
No. Incase only accesses your location while the App is open and in the foreground. It never tracks you in the background and never stores your location history.
No. Your location data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers (we don't have any). See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes. The siren is designed to override silent mode and play at maximum volume regardless of your phone's volume or Focus settings.
Yes. The flashlight and siren will continue running even if you dismiss the SOS panel. They will stop when you toggle them off or close the App entirely.
